things i'm lusting after

This is a self-indulgent post; it's a wishlist of things I'd love to have if I could stop spending money and start, you know, saving.



MAC Free to Be Eyeshadow. I'm such a sucker for pinks, even though they don't tend to pop well on my skintone.



Urban Decay Naked Palette. I LOVE LOVE LOVE a neutral eye, and after hearing lollipop26 rave about this palette I decided it is now a must have. Just look at all those shimmery browns!



Top from Forever 21. I scoured the store last time I was there looking for this particular top and couldn't find it anywhere. I wish their clothes fit true to size for me, I would just order it online then.



The iPhone 4. My iPhone 3G bit the dust about two weeks ago, and until I can save enough money to get this one ordered I've been using any phone I can find. Not having the internet in the palm of my hand was a total culture shock after almost two years, and I still miss my touch screen.

So that's it :] I'm totally sorry about the lack of posts but this past week I've worked 31 hours, on top of baby-sitting when I'm not at work. I've been a busy bee to say the least! But I'm going school shopping this weekend so at the very least I'll be posting a haul then. Keep reading :]

forever 21 haul!

Hello everyone! I recently took a shopping trip to Forever 21, which is a HUGE deal because there is only one store in my state and it's three hours away from me. WV really does get the bad end of the retail stick, haha. Anyway I figured I'd share my purchases with you guys :]

A grey spaghetti strapped tank top with pearl detail around the neck. I love anything pearled so this was the first thing I grabbed off the rack. It's also the only tanktop I bought because school is starting soon and my school has a reputation for being absolutely freezing! I had to wear my fleece Columbia jacket all the way until the middle of May.

I got this cardigan to wear over the grey tank. I love it's cap sleeves, which you can't see too well in the picture, and the lace back. I think the lacy look is so girly and fun, I'm not too crazy about the totally lace shirts but I think details like this are super cute.

A long, military green t shirt with detailing on the shoulder. I love this color and I was looking for something with a little detail on the shoulder and this has just enough to turn a plain t shirt into something a touch more interesting.

My favorite shirt I purchased. It's also grey (it's my favorite color to wear :]) and slouchy and has such pretty sequins around the neck.

Now onto the jewelry!

My bird connector ring. I have a new obsession with these, all the ones I've seen have been super cute and it's just so different than anything I've seen.

Another connector ring I bought :] This one is so cool, the ring side is on the back so the flowers come up in between your fingers. I wore this to work this evening and I got a ton of comments and compliments on it. It's my new favorite ring.

A gold feather ring I bought specifically to wear with the green shirt I bought. I love the tarnished gold look.

beauty tag!

This tag has been going around the beauty community for awhile, I figured I would give my two cents on it :)

SKINCARE

How many times do you wash your face daily? I normally wash my face once in the shower in the morning using my organic oatmeal face bar, but then I use my cleanser to take my make up off with at night.

What skin type do you have? I have combination dry skin.

What is your current cleanser? Neutrogena Grapefruit Acne Wash

Do you exfoliate? I try to every other day, if I do it any more often than that it makes my skin very red and sensitive.

What brand do you use? Clean & Clear Morning Burst

What moisturizer do you use? Neutrogena Healthy Skin Face Lotion

Do you have freckles? Very few, just a sprinkling across my nose

Do you use eye cream? No

Do you or did you have acne prone skin? No, I only rarely break out and it's normally small, under the skin bumps.

Did you ever have to use Pro-activ? Nope, like I said my breakouts are never that bad.

MAKE-UP

What foundation do you use? Clinique Even Better Foundation with MAC MSF Natural as a setting powder

How about concealer? Bare Minerals Well-Rested

Do you know your undertone color? I have olive/yellow undertones

What do you think of fake eyelashes? Difficult to put on but probably the number one most useful eyelash product. They can totally change your look.

Did you know that you are suppose to change your mascara every 3 months? Yes but I don't follow it, I find that a mascara dries out when it dries out. The longest I've ever used one is about 6 months.

What brand of mascara do you use? My eyelashes are naturally long and thick, like my hair, and they do not like to hold curl, also much like my natural hair :] I've been using L'Oreal Telescopic Explosion but I'm not impressed..I've tried just about every mascara under the sun though.

Sephora or MAC? MAC, without a doubt.

Do you have a MAC Pro-card? No

What makeup tools do you use in make up application? I use a MAC 190 for foundation application, MAC 239, 231, and 228 for eyeshadow, and a MAC 116 blush brush. All of these except for the 239 were purchased in a limited edition set, they're smaller than normal brushes but much cheaper when you buy them :]

Do you use make-up base/primer for the eyes? I use MAC Bare Study paint pot

For the face? MAC Prep+Prime

What is your favorite eyeshadow (color or shade)? Oh gosh this is hard. I love MAC Satin Taupe, as I think everyone does, and I also have a soft spot for Honesty and Cranberry.

Do you use pencil or liquid eyeliner? I use both.

How often do you poke your eyes with an eyeliner? Not that often, it just takes one painful occasion to learn to take your time with that application :]

What do you think of pigment eyeshadows? I love them..not only are they gorgeous but there's so many different uses for them! I love to use my light shimmery colors as a cheek highlight.

Do you use mineral makeup? Yes. I've used the Bare Minerals line and I love it (I still use their concealer), and I love MAC's Mineralize line. I use their MSF Natural as a setting powder and I love their mineral blushes

What is your favorite lipstick? I still haven't found my "signature" lipstick color but I my favorite of all I have tried so far is MAC's Viva Glam Gaga.

How about lipgloss? I love MAC's Prr, it's just a nice sheer lightly tinted pink color.

What is your favorite blush to use? Right now it's MAC's Sunbasque

Do you buy your makeup on ebay? Oh no, personally I'd be way too paranoid about what someone did with it before I got to it.

Do you like drugstore makeup? Definitely yes. You can find some really nice quality stuff and it's much easier on the wallet than a trip to MAC :]

Do you go to CCOs (Cosmetic Company Outlets)? Yes. I wish I lived closer to one. I've only been to the one at the outlet mall at Myrtle Beach and I loved it!

Did you ever consider taking make-up classes? I would love too, if I could find one around here to go to. I hate living in the middle of nowhere, there's never anything fun to do!

Are you clumsy in putting on makeup? Yes, but I'm clumsy at everything!

Name a makeup crime that you hate? The girls who wear dark black, raccoon eyed makeup to school! Dark black eyeshadow is a nighttime only look, in my opinion at least.

Do you like colorful shades of makeup (lipstick,eyeshadow) or neutral ones? I think colorful shades are prettier, but when it comes to what I buy and reach for the most, definitely neutral tones.

Which celebrity(ties) always has great make up? Kim Kardashian without a doubt.

If you had to leave the house using just ONE make up item, what would you use? My MAC MSF Natural. It gives you a little coverage and some color to your face.

Could you ever leave the house without any makeup on? I do it all the time, it's the downside to being lazy :] As of recently though I've been doing it much less.

Do you think you look good even without any makeup on? I look alright I suppose, but makeup always improves the situation.

In your opinion, what is the BEST makeup line? MAC.

What do you think of Makeup? I love it. It's fun, it's girly, it's expressing yourself through wearable art. Nothing gives me the rush that buying new makeup or just sitting around playing with it does :]

ootd & clinique foundation

Hey everyone! So my name is Ashley and I've wanted to start blogging for awhile, so I hope I'll get the hang of this soon :) For my first post I wanted to do an outfit of the day type thing, I figure I will probably do quite a few of these.



Don't mind my dog in the background or the bag of clothes, I recently cleaned out my closet and that's the bag of things that need to be sorted for eBay :)

I've been looking for a good foundation for awhile, until now I had been using my MAC MSF Naturals and a dab of my mom's tinted moisturizer. On the recommendation of a friend I purchased the Clinique Even Better foundation (my color is Cream Chamois). I haven't tried it out yet as I just bought it yesterday, but I'll be posting a review as soon as I do :)
